The Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. This scheme is implemented through a network of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the Directorate General of Training (DGT).
NCVT — National Council for Vocational Training
NCVT was set up in 1956 under the Apprentices Act. It lays down standards for training, examinations and certification of craftsmen. Trainees who complete the training and pass the All India Trade Test (AITT) are awarded the National Trade Certificate (NTC).
